GoingVC Investor Relations Manager

GoingVC was founded in 2016 with the goal of providing individuals with a more concrete pathway into venture capital and has continued to grow into a vibrant organization built around the mission of making venture capital education, investing, networks, and talent more accessible to those with the desire to succeed. We currently run our flagship program, two cohorts per year, as well as the active angel community, GoingVC Angels, for both new and seasoned investors to gain exposure to venture investing. GoingVC is also actively backing early-stage startups through its investment vehicle, GoingVC Partners.

GoingVC’s 16-week flagship program is aimed at helping its members take the next steps in their venture capital careers or launch their own fund. The program offers participants a multitude of opportunities to build and fortify their understanding of venture capital, as well as chances to grow their venture capital networks, and gain legitimate work experience in the field. 

We started the program because – having come from venture capital backgrounds ourselves – we experienced first-hand how challenging and competitive of an industry it is to break into, and we wanted to be a resource for others as they attempted to navigate their own paths into the business.

GoingVC also expanded its reach in the venture capital ecosystem through the complete acquisition of VC Stack and Startup & VC—two leading platforms for VC content, job opportunities, and thought leadership—boosting our audience by over 100,000 readers.

The Role

GoingVC is hiring a part-time, remote Investor Relations Manager to join its fundraising team. 

We are seeking a seasoned Investor Relations Manager with a strong, active network of LPs to drive our fundraising efforts. With fundraising material and an investment strategy already in place, this role is squarely focused on the human element—outbound relationship-building and network activation. You'll be leveraging and expanding your existing relationships with family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional investors. You will be responsible for introducing these stakeholders to GoingVC’s fund initiatives, securing meetings, nurturing ongoing interest, and converting prospects into committed LPs. Success in this role hinges on your ability to activate your network and continually generate warm leads, while representing GoingVC’s brand and investment vision with credibility and enthusiasm.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include: 

  • Leverage their own existing network of investors to drive new introductions and strategic relationships with prospective LPs (High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNWIs), Family Offices, Fund of Funds, etc.)
  • Conduct ongoing outreach to expand our network of family offices, HNWIs, and institutional investors
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new limited partners to GoingVC's ecosystem with the primary aim of helping us raise capital for dedicated venture funds
  • Continuously nurture relationships with Limited Partners in the industry including VC investors, Family Offices, Angel Investors, as well as high-net-worth Individuals
  • Maintain compelling investor communications, including newsletters, reports, and presentations, to entice investors to engage and participate with our investment opportunities
  • Clearly define, track, and report on key metrics to measure the success of our fundraising initiatives and targets
  • Streamline and manage our internal tech stacks in connection with fundraising campaigns. This includes email campaigns as well as internal CRMs we utilize to manage our investor relationships
  • Plan and execute Limited Partner events such as webinars, networking sessions, and investor meetings, to facilitate interaction and relationship-building opportunities
  • Cultivate relationships with existing investors, providing them with updates on developments across our portfolio, new investment opportunities, and insights from GoingVC’s research ecosystem

Who We’re Looking For 

This role is suitable for someone with a minimum 5 years of experience in fundraising, venture capital, or finance who has ambitions to continue building their career in and around the VC and startup world over time.

With this in mind, successful candidates for the part-time, remote Investor Relations Manager position should be able to check many of the following boxes: 

Must Haves: 

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business administration, corporate communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in an investor relations, fundraising, or a related role within the venture capital, private equity, finance industry or within a startup or VC service provider
  • Proven, active network of LPs—family offices, institutional investors, and/or high-net-worth individuals—with a strong track record of securing meetings and converting relationships into capital commitments
  • Exceptional writing abilities - with demonstrated experience authoring detailed reports, memos, and presentations
  • Proficiency in G Suite Software, Excel, and CRM platforms such as HubSpot & AirTable
  • Strong understanding of venture capital and startup ecosystems, with a track record of successfully engaging with investors and raising capital
  • Ability to build, lead, and manage outbounding campaigns across a variety of platforms and channels
  • Intrinsically passionate about the startup, entrepreneurship, and Venture Capital ecosystem
  • You have direct work experience in the Startup & Venture Capital industry across broader ecosystem service providers and vendors in the industry
  • Ability to conduct detailed research and market map industries in the Venture Capital, Angel Investing, and Family Office landscape
  • Self-starter, you should be able to figure out what to do and a plan of action and then execute on it independently
  • You’re a clear, crisp communicator and value brevity in your conversations
  • You are able to adapt on the fly and handle unforeseen developments with ease
